Gettysburg Adress

今天无意中又看了一遍《葛底斯堡的演讲》，第一次读是在高中三年级，恰当时年少，意气风发。可惜生词太多，基本磕磕巴巴意思能读出个大概齐。最有共鸣的还是结尾处的那句
That the government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall never perish from the planet.

很喜欢另一句：
The world will little note what we say here, but it can never forget what we did here.

今天重读，发现这个演讲发生在1863年。刚好在1963年马丁路德金《I have a dream》的一百年前。google了一下才知道，金牧师这个演讲恰恰是在林肯纪念堂前面做的。
